It’s been in the works for a year, but the pieces are now coming together and the Television Academy is going to stage its own concert of great music from current TV shows. (A few weeks after I broke this story, the Academy asked me to host the concert. I did.)

Mark Snow and “The X-Files”
Mark Snow is one of my favorite composers. He’s been knocking around the film- and TV-music business a lot longer than I’ve been writing about it. The release of the first X-Files movie was a great opportunity to spend time with Mark, talking about the series’ all-synth scores and the need for a big orchestra for the big-screen version.
