The Exorcist
Liner Notes
This edition, released in 1998 to accompany a home-video version of the film, is unique for including, for the first time, all of Lalo Schifrin’s recorded music — later rejected by director William Friedkin — as well as most of the music from the original 1974 LP (missing are the Mike Oldfield and George Crumb pieces). This essay was the first detailed chronology and analysis of the score, used and unused, written to that date.
