Liner Notes
Bruce Broughton’s original score for the 1994 remake of the holiday classic — this one starring Richard Attenborough as Kris Kringle — is one of my all-time favorite Christmas scores. It was a treat to interview him about the experience, and his recollections are included in my liner notes for the album. The entire 67-minute score is on this disc, a vast improvement from the original Fox album that was riddled with mostly irrelevant songs. There is a magical quality to the Broughton score that even the Cyril Mockridge music from the 1947 original can’t match. The film is great, too!
